The Get-Real Summary

A whole lot of hibbity hoo has been going on I suppose. We're kind of just waiting until Spring hits so we can come out of our houses. Here are a few updates for the old catalog:

Lot's of volunteering at the school.  It's been fun to have little groups or individuals to work with.  It's like I'm teaching, but without the commitment and time contraint. I find that if I can just help one kid feel awesome about themselves, then it's made my day. That's my goal anyway. I love to watch them smile and beam when they figured something out. Priceless.

Mat's been volunteering as well at the Senior Centers, giving free lectures on eyelids and free muffins and juice, which they love.  They love a doctor with treats.  Mat's also headed to Haiti on Saturday for a week on a medical mission.  I always worry and pray that his travels find him safe.

I think I might take a pottery class. I might try my hand at the "wheel".  I've always had a fetish for serving dishes. Why not make them? Also, I've been printing my own T-Shirts and tea towels on the side with a little added cross stitching (Thx Colleen). I pop in a book or hook up with a movie on Netflix and away I go. Everyone needs to dabble into something while on earth, I just need to eventually become100% expert at one of them :-)

Kids had a piano recital Saturday.  Becket=Mr. Bean somedays.  He went up to the bench, sat down and instead of jumping in and playing he looks over at us and waves. I had to point at the piano to get him going.  He had the look of "Oh yeah!" Love that kid.

New dining room chairs, although they sent us double our order.  I'll have to call them and see what they'd like us to do with them. We'll be changing the legs of the table to metal as soon as Mat gets home tonight. I'm sure of it.

Went to the home show with my aunties and mom a while ago (can't believe I haven't posted it).  It's always a fun girl's weekend with laughs, opinions, car rides, and other activities.  I adopted LeAnn to be one of my new aunts.  She's my Aunt Bentley's friend and a pure delight. We had so much fun. I hopped on a flight back to SLC from Cedar which made my travels zippy. Did you know their flights are only $56? From St. George they are twice that.

From the home show: I want to do this to my mud room except....

We're starting the process of remodeling our kitchen. Yes, we have great countertops and cabinets already, but we need it to tie in with our not so traditional house. There are also a few little function/efficiency issues I have beef with my kitchen too. We're getting bids and the tab keeps growing. I'm not sure where to draw the line because I feel that once you tear up your house, you might as well do it all at once.

And my kids have been passing out all over the place because they stay up so late reading.  Not a bad thing, except in the morning when I need to get them up.

And I'm loving my new yellow boots all of $20 bucks. They serve as my all weather boots and have that wonderful smell of fake leather.

Can I place a custom order for some tea towels? Always fun to check in with your family - I want to see all of your remodel projects in person. Soon!!!
