The Office Before Photo's (Shift 1)

Picture early 1990's. Picture mauve. Picture teal. Picture pastel sailboats wrapped in a gold plastic frame. It's not a bad thing, just not our thing. Here are the before pictures (pictures were delayed due to our chairs not getting delivered for over 2 mths--long story)

Tram Minus the P

You couldn't have had enough candy to convince Micah that we were going on a TRAM not a Tramp! Micah : "Bo-ab, it's a tramp!" ....."so, when we get to the top, are we going to jump dhwere?" Oh giggles!

I must say the altitude sickness settles in a little bit when you leap over these creamy mounds via pulley. It was still excitingly cold and breath taking. It looked like a German Christmas village had moved where we had once stood 20 min ago. The lights glowing on the snow and the little brown cottages. Mmmm, pass me some gingerbread.

Yes! It was that exciting.

Follow Up

Just wanted to follow up on a few things. Becket's birthday was Friday as you know and there are a few things that happened that day.
For starters, he didn't have school, so I took my children to the Discovery Museum to play. I love the children's museum. It's like having my kid's absolutely engaged in cooler toys and messing up someone else's house. I thought how nice it would be to design your kids playroom around a children's museum with all of it's organized glory stations, but then I would have to clean and maintain it. I will just stick to buying my museum pass instead.
And, guess who we popped into coming up the elevator? FACT! It was John from Kid History. You.Tube Kid History and you will not be disappointed. John and I were BFF's by the end of our museum tour, partly because we chose the same areas to be in. He told me they are making a Christmas episode, so watch for it.

We later took Becket to Red Lobster for lunch because he recalls liking snow crab legs. Remember Christmas when we got him a king crab leg and he didn't eat because he knew it was the SNOW crab legs he liked? Silly Becket, he didn't like snow crab either. He started to eat them and then his face went sour. He tried to be polite, but eventually caved and said he didn't like crab at all. Mat never minds cleaning his plate.

He did enjoy touching the lobster though, and well maybe getting some new legos. (Our waiter looked like Nic, your husband Megan. I even asked if they were related.)

Mat played with the Legos all weekend. Did I say Mat? I meant Mat.

Boy Turns 8, Mother Feels Old

Every. Single. Year. You feel older as a parent when your first born reaches their next number in age. Becket has reached the age of eight. The age of baptism. The age of adventure. The age of scouting. The age of responsibility. Is he ready? Yes. One word: SUPERPOWERS.

He's smart
He's a sponge for science facts
He knows what he wants and you can't convince him otherwise
He can self entertain and not self destruct
He's a protector (especially if little sisters need to cross the road or get too close to the edge of the cliff)
He's kind to small animals almost to a fault
He doesn't litter

If he can't survive in this treacherous world, which is unlikely, he'll call his back ups

As each child gets older, they will fight battles, together as one.  They are the Harrises and they have your back.
