Cultural night was a whirlwind of people, food and paper creations.
I was over the 4th graders creating the Caribbean
with Bob Marley pumping and snow cones being served, it was a recipe for a party.

Random Happenings
We went to the women's basketball game with some friends and we even had a backstage locker room tour to meet the players.
Played with the cousins at the park. I snapped this picture of Gretchen because she looked like a little Russian Babushka in the fields.
We had our first daddy daughter date! What fun to hang out with just your dad. I remember that happy memory when I was a kid. They were told to bring a kitchen gadget, but I didn't tell them what it was for----to eat with! One dad brought a rolling pin.
I've been working on my pancake art.Mona Lisa, Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
Abstract pancake
I also know to never make French toast with raisin bread. MY KIDS DON'T LIKE RAISIN BREAD.
Even with Nutella.
The kids, especially Becket, have been into Monty Python and the Holy Grail. We made him a shirt that very few kids get at school. Funny to hear them quote it though
I taught the girls a little cross stitching with my friend Sheryl. They made some great dishtowels.
Had a fabulous, yet quick, snowstorm. Enough to make a snowman, but in the sun he melted, melted, melted, in the sun he melted, small, small, small, small. Becket's version of his snowman. He worked on this masterpiece for hours.
Mat did win most popular chili in our neighborhood chili cookoff. With a title like "Steak Chili" of course it is gone!
And we have started to check for armpit hair since cousin Acea has already sprouted some last Saturday. No dice.

Knee Surgery
Mat tore his meniscus while doing some remodeling on our house. It hasn't healed since June, so now we are biting the bullet and getting it taken care of before it prolongs too long.
He was a serious about getting this knee better!
He only used crutches the first hour and now he is walking like a champ. It is killing him to wait four more weeks to run on it, but I told him to not have a repeat!
